An update from operations manager Mark Inman
As we celebrate a remarkable milestone of 18 months in our newly renovated Thirteenth Ave location, our excitement knows no bounds. The transformation we’ve witnessed in this space has been nothing short of extraordinary, mirroring the growth and positive trajectory of our programs. The genuine joy radiating from the faces of our taiohi as they step into Youth Central is truly priceless, a testament to the welcoming and empowering environment we’ve worked tirelessly to create.
In these past months, we’ve achieved unprecedented numbers, with participation rates soaring to an all-time high. The success of our taiohi, with over 70% accomplishing their personal and developmental goals, fills us with immense pride. Behind this success stands our dedicated staff, whose unwavering commitment and hard work have been pivotal in ensuring the flourishing of our youth. As the Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust, we are deeply grateful to our sponsors and funders who play a vital role in making Youth Central a bustling hub of activity. Their support has enabled us to sustain and expand our transformative initiatives.
We’re excited to announce the revival of the Ringside Cafe, where the aromatic blend of coffee now mingles with the aroma of opportunity. This youth-centred venture not only serves up delightful beverages but also focuses on honing crucial employability skills through barista training. As we continue this journey of growth, empowerment, and community-building, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to making Youth Central a beacon of hope and possibility for our taiohi. Here’s to the future, brimming with promise and potential!
