Our Facilities
Te Puna o Taiohi (The Spring of Youth) – Youth Central
With the generous support of our funders, we moved into our newly refurbished building, Te Puna o Taiohi/ Youth Central in 2022. The facility is a strategic youth hub for rangatahi in Tauranga.
Having already hosted several national teams for training(NZ 7s, Tongan Rugby Team, BOP Magic) and the NZ Police Pasifika Conference 2022, the space can be booked and shared with our partners and wider community.
Our spacious 1050m² building includes:
- A large gym with state-of-the-art equipment
- A 23m running track
- Tournament certified boxing ring
- A large commercial kitchen and dining area
- Presentation space
- Whānau area
- Multiple training spaces
- Boardroom
- Meeting rooms
- Changing rooms and bathrooms
- Ringside Coffee Bar with cafe grade coffee and window for coffee sales
- Uppercuts area with a barber’s chair for guest barbers
The Ringside Coffee Bar
An innovative addition next to our whānau area in Te Puna o Taiohi/Youth Central is our Ringside Coffee Bar. We have staff who have been trained by Allpress Espresso who teach our participants essential barista skills, as well as food and beverage handling and customer service skills.. These skills are transferable for many jobs, and provide real-world experience while learning.
The Coffee Bar has:
- A cafe grade Italian coffee machine
- EFTOPS machine for payments
- Allpress Espresso coffee beans
- An outward facing order window and leaner to take orders from
- Decking with chairs for the public and/or participant’s whānau to relax with their coffee
- Cabinet food such as muffins and slices
The Kulim Boatshed
We’re in the process of upgrading the Kulim Boatshed at Kulim Park where we deliver our Ki Tai (To the Sea) marine-based programme.
The 4.6m x 12.5m boatshed stores our Scottish skiffs, waka and paddleboards and we’re reinstating the access ramp and re-constituting a launching ramp on the seaward face of the boatshed.
